Choi Won-hyok Appointed CEO of Pantos LogisticsNov. 30, 2015

Choi Won-hyok (55), former vice president of Pantos Logistics, a logistics subsidiary of the LG Group, has been appointed the new CEO of the company as a result of regular personnel reshuffle.

Choi, a global logistics expert who previously worked at CJ Korea Express, joined Pantos Logistics in August 2015 as the COO in charge of domestic and global business operations. He was moved up to the top position within three months of joining the company. Prior to his transfer to Pantos, Choi had led the overseas businesses of CJ Korea Express as global vice president until June 2016; he has been working in the fields of global logistics, forwarding, 3PL, and IT integration for over 30 years. Choi, who also served as head of the logistics research center of CJ Korea Express, is known as a logistics expert who possesses both theoretical knowledge and field experiences ? a combination that is rarely found among other top executives in the industry.

Following the acquisition of Pantos by LG Corp. in May 2015, Pantos took over Hi Logistics, a logistics subsidiary of LG Electronics, in October 2015 ; thus laying the foundation for Pantos to grow into a global logistics company by adding inland logistics services to its existing air cargo and shipping services.
At this juncture, the appointment of Choi ? who boasts of extensive knowledge and experiences in logistics that he has accumulated over the past 30 years ? as the new CEO is expected to provide fresh momentum for Pantos’s global expansion.

“I believe Choi will play a pivotal role in leading Pantos into a global logistics company that represents Korea by further growing our global businesses using our expanded overseas network as a result of the acquisition of Hi Logistics ? which includes 191 overseas bases of Pantos and 120 overseas bases of Hi Logistics ? by developing new growth areas, taking advantage of Pantos’s international competitiveness, which Pantos has honed in the course of working with more than 2,500 global corporate clients in various industries including electronics, steel, chemicals, and distribution, including the factories and inland logistics knowhow of Hi Logistics, and by concentrating efforts on increasing the global client base. Our efforts will focus on managing the organization in a stable and efficient manner in order to renew our brand image and maximize the synergistic effects of the consolidation with Hi Logistics,” a Pantos official said.
