LX Pantos Conducts Urban Ecosystem and Biodiversity Conservation Activities at Ansan in Seoul
- Part of the company’s environmental CSR initiative, “LX Pantos Nature Road”
- LX Pantos to continue ESG-driven community engagement activities in partnership with local communities
LX Pantos, a leading integrated logistics company led by President & CEO Lee Yong-ho, announced on the 19th that it had conducted urban ecosystem and biodiversity conservation activities at Ansan in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, together with employees and local children from the community.
The initiative was carried out as part of “LX Pantos Nature Road,” the company’s environmental CSR program under its ESG strategy. As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship and climate action, LX Pantos designates ecologically valuable areas near its major domestic business sites as “LX Pantos Nature Road” locations and continues to implement ecosystem protection and environmental restoration activities tailored to the characteristics of each site.
Following Cheonggyecheon, near its headquarters in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, which was designated as the first Nature Road last year, and Chungsapo in Busan, designated as the second this year, LX Pantos has expanded the initiative to Ansan in Seodaemun-gu, a green urban habitat in the heart of Seoul that supports diverse forms of wildlife.
A total of 38 participants took part in the activity, including 26 LX Pantos employees and 12 local children sponsored by the company. Participants first attended a lecture by an urban ecology expert to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of urban ecosystems and biodiversity. They then created insect hotels and seed bombs using tree branches and plant seeds, before taking part in plant exploration activities and installing the insect hotels in the Ansan area.
The insect hotels and seed bombs handmade by participants are expected to help restore urban ecological balance and support biodiversity by providing habitats and food sources for *pollinating insects.
*Pollinators are organisms that transport pollen and enable plant pollination.
An LX Pantos representative said, “It was a meaningful opportunity for our employees and children to come together, reflect on the value of the environment and ecosystems, and contribute to the local community. We will continue to pursue a wide range of ESG-based social contribution activities that create positive impact in communities near our business sites.”
