LX Pantos Nature Road Project Preserves Ecology
along Seoul’s Cheonggyecheon Stream
- MOU signed with Seoul Facilities Corporation to restore 2,300 ㎡ of the stream’s ecosystem
- Employees and local children join in tree planting, ecological research on freshwater fish, and cleanup activities
LX Pantos (CEO: Lee Yong-ho) launched its LX Pantos Nature Road Project at Seoul’s Cheonggyecheon Stream on October 17, 2025. The initiative commemorates the 20th anniversary of the stream’s restoration and seeks to preserve the urban river ecosystem and biodiversity as part of the company’s commitment to contributing to local communities.
Under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seoul Facilities Corporation, which manages Cheonggyecheon Stream, LX Pantos designated the 2,300 ㎡ section between Muhakgyo Bridge and Biudanggyo Bridge as the LX Pantos Nature Road. Located at the confluence of the Cheonggyecheon and Seongbukcheon streams, the area was selected for continued preservation and cleanup activities due to its ecological significance.
The first volunteer event, held on October 17, brought together more than 30 participants, including 20 LX Pantos employees and 10 local children. Participants planted red peach blossom and cornelian cherry trees to support birds, conducted ecological research on some of the stream’s freshwater fish, and carried out an environmental cleanup along the water’s edge. Paired with part icipating children, the volunteer LX Pantos employees attended expert-led ecology sessions, collected fish from the stream for study, and provided baseline data to research institutions. The activities offered participants a valuable opportunity for hands-on engagement to learn about local biodiversity beyond conventional volunteering.
As one LX Pantos official commented: “This project carries special significance because it represents a voluntary effort by our employees to protect the Cheonggyecheon ecosystem located near our headquarters. In the future, we will continue to promote ESG-driven sustainability and social-contribution activities that create greater value for the community.”
