David Bang Appointed as Chief Executive Officer,
Americas at LX Pantos
- A global sales veteran with 30 years of experience at DHL and other leading logistics companies
- Strengthening sales capabilities in the Americas to accelerate global growth
- Appointment of Kim Young-sang, formerly with Korean Air, as head of the Air Cargo Division
On July 31, LX Pantos (CEO: Lee Yong-ho) announced the appointment of David Bang, an internationally recognized sales strategist with 30 years of experience in the logistics industry, to lead its operations throughout the Americas and boost business development across the region.
Bang is a seasoned logistics executive with extensive leadership experience at DHL and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. Previously, he spent 14 years as CEO of LifeCoNex, a joint venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo that specializes in pharmaceutical logistics, where he propelled DHL’s cold chain management solutions to industry-leading status.
Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at U.S.-based JAS Worldwide, directing global sales and marketing strategies across more than 50 countries.
This appointment is part of LX Pantos’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Americas and accelerate global growth. Based in the U.S., Bang will oversee operations across the region, including Mexico, Brazil, Panama, Chile, Colombia, and Argentina, while also leading new client acquisition and business expansion initiatives.
LX Pantos has recently intensified its expansion in the U.S., the world’s largest logistics market. As part of this effort, the company established Boxlinks LLC., a joint venture with Ocean Network Express (ONE), the world's sixth-largest shipping line, to enter the U.S. intermodal transportation services market. It has also acquired a large-scale logistics center in Georgia (equivalent to 43 soccer fields) to strengthen its infrastructure footprint in the logistics hub of the southeastern U.S.
“The Americas region is the main driver of our global growth strategy,” explained Lee Yong-ho, CEO of LX Pantos, recently. “David Bang’s extensive expertise and proven leadership in the logistics industry will be a pivotal catalyst in propelling LX Pantos toward becoming a top-tier global logistics provider."
To further strengthen its air logistics expertise, LX Pantos has appointed Kim Young-sang as Executive Vice President and Head of the Air Cargo Division. Kim, who brings 29 years of air logistics experience from Korean Air, has an extensive background in global and domestic sales, managing air cargo charter operations and block space agreement (BSA) contracts, and developing specialized markets that include semiconductors, biopharmaceuticals, and perishables. With his proven expertise and overseas assignments in North America and Southeast Asia, coupled with strong market analysis capabilities, Kim is expected to play a key role in enhancing LX Pantos’s competitiveness in the air cargo sector.
*A BSA (block space agreement) is a contract under which an airline reserves a designated portion of cargo hold space to another carrier or freight forwarder.
